Flamingo 4th Birthday Party

Happy Friday!

Spring is party season in our house.  The girls birthdays are in March, April & May, and my parents birthday days are also in April and May, throw in St. Patty's day, Easter, Mother's day and our wedding anniversary and you've got yourself a 3-month long celebration!

It's exhausting.

But I LOVE it!

If you saw my Chanel party post you'll remember that I came up with that theme while brainstorming for Bella's 4th birthday.  I ended up deciding on a FLAMINGO theme for her party last year.  I really wanted to do something with these hot pink ostrich feathers I'd been given (they were actually used for Bella's baby shower!).  I thought a flamingo theme would be super cute and then it hit me-when a flamingo stands on one leg with the other bent up IT LOOKS LIKE A FOUR!!!  I may or may not have jumped up and down and clapped my hands at this realization. ;)

Here's the pics from Bella's 4th birthday.  Only over a year after the party (I seriously don't know why it has taken me this long to post them. Something is wrong with me).

I cut flamingos out of pink vinyl and put them on some of the chairs.  See, it's a four!

I made this bunting and stung it on a hot pink marabou boa

Another one of my moms amazing cakes

My mom made these cookies too!  She even had my dad helping.  Parties around here truly are a family affair!

Here's the feathers that started it all :)

The polka dot background is just wrapping paper from the dollar section at Target.

We even made our own rock candy

We had a DIY photo booth.  I had props and a camera set up so guests could snap some cute photos.  The kids loved it and I got some hilarious pics!

I made these marquee letters out of foam board, poster board, spray paint and some string lights.  SO easy!

The birthday girl....a year ago.  Thankfully she still has those round cheeks and sweet smile :)

So, what did you think??

A HUGE thanks to the super talented Heather Fitch of Heather Fitch Photography.  She took all the photos and really does an outstanding job!  Thanks again Heather!

I totally loved this party, but then again I love all parties!

Do you have an upcoming event and need some help?  I'm the girl for the job! Shoot me an email and let's chat about it.

I hope you have a great Easter weekend and get to spend it celebrating with the ones you love most!

Thanks for reading,

Chanel No. 5 Birthday

My baby girl turned 5 last month.  I'm not sure where the time is going, but I'd sure like for it to slow down.

A lot.

I'd been planning this party since before she turned four.  While considering themes for her 4th birthday I tossed around the idea of a shopping party, which lead me to a Chanel theme and as soon as the words "Chanel No. 5" came out of my mouth I knew I had decided on a theme ..... for her 5th birthday (which was only a mere 18 months away.  I'm ridiculous, I know).

I had the best time planning this party!  The possibilities truly were endless and in the end everything came together better than I could have ever dreamed.

I wanted the centerpieces to resemble the iconic perfume bottles, and went with monochromatic flowers to create a classic, timeless look.

I purchased an old display case off Craigslist and fixed it up.  A little TLC made it good as new! {I'll post a before and after pic of the case soon}!

I filled the case with lots sweet treats and party favors.  At the end of the party the guests got to "shop" from the case.  We bagged up all their items in tiny glossy Chanel shopping bags!  It was so cute!

I made black satin Chanel hair bows for all the girls.

Black glossy baroque frames worked perfectly for holding food labels.

I picked up some nail polish in square bottles to mimic the ones sold at the Chanel counter and made little labels for them.

The walls were decorated with large black and white photos of Chanel storefronts.

Have I mentioned how amazingly talented my mom is?!  Well, SHE IS!!  She made this over the top cake! Not in my wildest dreams did I imagine something so perfect.  It tasted totally delicious too!!

We served a yummy brunch, which of course included bacon, the birthday girls FAVORITE food. :)

Me and my girl.  She's been my little sidekick from day 1.  Oh, how I love her so.

See the striped awning??  I made it out of wrapping paper!  Super easy, super cheap and super lightweight!  Win, win, win!

Make a wish!

Admiring a very special gift.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone for helping make this party so special!  I couldn't have done it without you.

And a special thank you to Erick Claytor of Erick Claytor Photography for all the stunning photos.  You are incredibly talented and I'm forever grateful to you for you're ability to capture this day so I can relive it over and over.

Happy Sunday everyone, stay classy and fabulous!! ;)

Cheers!

Tabletop Pergola

Happy Saturday everyone!

Last week we attended, as a vendor, a bridal show at Persimmon Country club.  In preparation for the event, I decided that I wanted to come up with an original tablescape concept and design.  I’ve always been a big fan of pergolas.  There is something about them that I find inviting, romantic and classy.  I love it when they are covered with beautiful blooming plants, or strung with strands of small globe lights.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen one I didn’t like, and if we didn’t live where it rained 9 months out of the year, I’d have one on my house.

With the help of my “contractors” {aka my hubby and dad}, we scaled down this architectural structure I’m so fond of, and made a tabletop pergola.  We constructed our pergola out of reclaimed, FREE, wood.  Not only did this help in the budget department, it gave our structure a weathered, distressed look.  Double bonus!

The real fun began after the building was complete.  The styling!  I made some custom linens out of a canvas drop cloth, and used chocolate brown satin napkins I already had.  Some cream plates, antique flatware, champagne glasses and coffee filter flowers finished off the place settings.  For the centerpiece I used a variety of candle holders and a boxwood plant.  Using potted plants for centerpieces is a great way to save money AND they can be given away as gifts or used in your own landscaping after you event.  This boxwood only cost $4.50, that’s a significant savings compared to flowers.

Take a look at the pictures!  I’d love to hear what you think.  I’m so pleased with how it came out and may just have to use it at home this summer!

I'm always looking for an excuse to dream up unique, one-of-a-kind designs.  If you have an event coming up and need some ideas, I'd love to help!  Email me at lolligags@gmail.com for more information.

Have a great weekend!

Last Minute Valentine's Idea

If you're still trying to figure our what to do for your child's class Valentine's, check out what my girls and I made today!  These are so cute and SO easy!  We downloaded our FREE printable here, printed them on 8 1/2" X 11" sticker labels, picked up some gum {you'll want to get the little 5 stick packs} and got to work sticking on our labels!  Aren't they fun?!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

XOXO
